  Fighting a cold
I have been under the weather since Thursday with a cold. The worst symptom is a congested, runny nose, which makes my yoga and pranayama practice pretty null. There have been moments when my nose stops dripping and I try to fit in a few routines, like my kriya. I've found that I generally feel better after doing my breathwork, and attribute it to purging the lymphatic system. The most disturbing symptom is that it makes me feel brain dead, taking the edge off of life. It frustrates me to feel inactive and dull, and not have the inclination to doing things. I keep telling myself I have to give my body time and rest to fight off the illness.

This is certainly a great time to step up my meditation practice -- my mind is already slowed down. MY meditation teacher always instructed us to think of nothing. I'm so there.

Hi Michael! Awesome blog. You inspired me to create my own. I noticed that you were searching for yoga locations and I saw that Susan Bowen wrote to you a while back. I recently joined Thrive and i am hooked. It is a gorgeous space with tons of personal attention. I am a yoga instructor myself so this is where i can enhance my practice!

Best of luck and keep writing!

YogaRachel, first thanks for your encouraging words about this humble blog. I am glad that you feel moved to start your own. Let me know your Internet address (URL) so that I can add it to my list. I am planning on visiting Thrive soon. I knew the first week or so would be hectic for them. It's only five minutes from my home.

This is it. I'm excited about it...it will be a place to talk about my two loves: yoga and food (mindful eating).

Perhaps i'll meet you one day at Thrive. See you soon!

Many people hear voices when no-one is there. Some of them are called mad and are shut up in rooms where they stare at the walls all day. Others are called writers and they do pretty much the same thing.
