  This writer comes clean
I am adding another article to the one, How Yoga is Changing My Life, that I put up a few weeks ago. This piece is a little more explicit about why I became interested in yoga. Some people may have deduced this motivation by the books that I read or referenced, the news articles that I point to and the areas that I emphasize in my yoga practice. I am laying a heavy load on the reader but it's important for me to get it off my chest -- A Confession.

Comments:
What an inspiring story. I am reminded of the Tao: the best teachers are those who show by example. I am sure many people suffering from depression would take heart from your story, and try the experience of yoga themselves.

Thanks for writing this too, Michael. I also have suffered from clinical depression. I can also say that meds initially helped me to relieve the depression, but left me in a fog. Yoga is the only thing that gives me clarity and the resolve to face my depression. I can't take actual meds anymore, but I always have my yoga.

thanks for sharing. jai gurudev.

I've received a lot of positive feedback about this posting. Your comments are encouraging. I'm not sure if my story is so inspiring, but the fact that I am able to write about it probably is. My daily practice gives me the courage to describe the experience.

Many people hear voices when no-one is there. Some of them are called mad and are shut up in rooms where they stare at the walls all day. Others are called writers and they do pretty much the same thing.
